Volunteering, Employment & Skills Development

London Tigers’ volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation and without them the organisation could never have grown in the way it has. Our dedicated army of volunteers work tirelessly to promote, organise and deliver our projects and services and hold value to one of the key indicators to why our community engagement is so successful. Our volunteers enable us to enhance service delivery, reduce operational running costs and ensure the sustainability of our activities. In response to this commitment, we take great pride in them and do everything we can to assist them in fulfilling their own personal ambitions whether through long term employment or the obtainment of qualifications.

As a charity that focuses its work in deprived communities, unemployment and lack of adequate training and skills are issues that our beneficiaries face time and again; the lack of opportunities in this regard is linked to a number of factors, e.g, poor educational attainment earlier on in life, lack of ambition and positive role models or simply lack of accessible employment support services.

London Tigers has a successful track record of delivering employment, training and skills provision to a wide age group, particularly tackling those traditionally thought of as ‘hard-to-reach’. We tackle this issue by supporting local people with the services they need to enhance employability and help develop soft skills such as confidence and punctuality as well as training programs offering accredited and non-accredited qualifications assisting to meet employer’s expectations – our work has been recognised by achieving the Matrix Standard for Information Advice & Guidance Award.
