Our activities empower girls and women to transform their lives and the lives of their families.

 

London Tigers engages with and provides activities for women to encourage a healthy, active and independent lifestyle. Where other organisations struggle to work with this target group, our success arises from tailoring our activities to be sensitive towards women’s needs, including the cultural and religious requirements of women from black and ethnic minority background, and understanding the local community.

 

Our staff are women from the local area who understand the issues our participants face in their daily lives. As a result, our participants are able to relate to and trust our staff and thus stay committed to our project and to improving their health, skills and abilities for a better life.

 

For many of these women, London Tigers is providing opportunities they would otherwise not have. The women-only sports activities we have provided range from aerobics, badminton, basketball, boxing, cycling, football, martial arts and multisport.

 

Alongside sports and health-related activities London Tigers arranges events, workshops, days out and residential stays for women and girls to explore the outdoors independently, enjoy time with their peers and build on their confidence, motivation and social skills.
