Musical Associations League
London Tigers has been participating in the Musical Associations League for the past 6 years.
This initiative to participate in this league was started by Mesba Ahmed, Director of London Tigers, who felt it was about time someone started to engage the Bangladeshi Communities of Camden and Westminster.
He wanted to provide an opportunity for the Bangladeshi community to participate in structured sporting activities.
The objective of this programme was to ensure one of the most socially and economically disadvantaged community had an opportunity to excel in sport, education and life.
In September 2004, a new generation of asian players were bought together. In their first season playing together, on grass and playing 11-a-side games, the team won the Second division winning all but two games.
In an amazing first season they managed to win the Sojka Cup, beating Red Star Camden 1-0 in the final. They also reached the goup cup Semi-Final and narrowly lost 2-1 to Red Star Camden.
This team is mainly comprised of Bangladeshi players from Westminster and Camden.
In the Summer, this team participated in the Bangladeshi Ipswich Football Association (BIFA) Cup, and won the competition for the third successive year beating West End United 5-0 in the Final.
This team is comprised of players from mainly Pakistani & Somalian backgrounds. They are playing in structured sporting activities for the first time.
