Match Reports for U13 Indoor Cricket League

 @ Bethnal Green Technology College

Sunday 29th January 2006

Regent's Park CC v Victoria Park CC

On Sunday 29th January 2006, we played our first fixture against Victoria Park CC, it was an early start with players waking up at 7am. We met up at 8am and found two players were still in bed and not available, so we asked Mohammed Bettemer from our under 14 football team to fill in for one of the players and become one of our super subs.

Whilst Mohammed got ready, I dropped 3 players and a parent to BGTC. Then I drove back to Marylebone to pick up the other players and we managed to get to BGTC just at 9am when our match was due to start.

With only seven players we had a 10 min warm up and went straight into the game. We lost the toss and were put into the field.

It was a nervous moment for our team as none of our players had held a cricket ball for over one month. Jack Hughes opened the bowling and was on target from the 1st ball. Then Sameer bowled and totally surprised himself by bowling 4 perfect balls, but still we could not get a break through. After five overs Victoria Park CC were cruising. Then one of the openers got 20 runs and had to retire. Then after a bowling change our youngest player on the pitch Trehan got our first wicket.

The next over we brought Terry (our very own Shane Warne) on to bowl. Terry dazzled the batters and they did not know what was going to happen next. He bowled so well he got selected for the district trials. Victoria Park CC scored 91 runs in their allocated 10 overs.

Batting details will be updated as soon as I receive the information from Capital Kids Cricket. STAY TUNED. But from memory Jack Hughes and Sameer Shah batted exceptionally well and also got selected for the district trials. Both scored over 25 runs each.

Man of the Match: Sameer Shah

Man of the Match: Terry

Sunday 5th March 2006
Islington CC v Regent's Park CC

Over the past 2 months all the players have worked hard to reach the situation they faced themselves with today. It was the FINAL of the U13 Indoor Cricket League @ BGTC.

Both teams came into this match undefeated and hungry for success. Regent's Park won the toss and elected to field.

It was a fantastic opening over from Russell who picked up two wickets and was on a hat-trick. For both wickets he clean bowled the batsmen hitting their off and middle stumps respectively. The hat-trick ball as faced by the captain of Islington a very good batsman and he defended the ball heading towards his off stump.

Man of the Match: Russell Miah
