London Tigers Cricket Club
Tigers Join the Last Man Stands 8-a-side League
London Tigers Cricket Club (LTCC) was established due to many young people in Westminster & Camden, from disadvantage backgrounds, demanding that they have an opportunity to play youth cricket.
All of the players were too old for the local clubs such as Regent's Park Junior CC, which London Tigers is a partner in, and Primrose Hill CC which does not cater for over14's. The alternative clubs such as Hampstead CC were too expensive for this group.
Hence, this year we formed LTCC.
We got this year off to a great start by organising a schools cricket match between Haverstock School and local rivals South Camden Community School. This was a thrilling match which ended with Haverstock winning by 1 run.
LCCA Inner City World Cup 06
This competition takes place annual at the MCC Indoor School, Lord's Cricket Ground.
This year the competition was for players who were under 18. This was a good omen for us as most of our squad from last year were still under 18.
This years squad was comprised of players from Wanstead, Victoria Park, Islington, London Tigers, Hampstead, Regent's Park and Vallance cricket clubs. This was a truly representitave side ensuring young Bangladeshi players from all across London had the opportunity to play.
Below are some pictures from the event and match reports will follow soon:
