LANGFORD 1 vs 2 KINGSBURY LONDON TIGERS
PREMIER DIVISION CUP
15 September 2009
Kingsbury started this match well and straight away put Langford under pressure and it was this pressure that told in the 10th minute. They won a free kick out on the right of the penalty area and Paulius Olisauskas flighted the perfect shot into the top left hand corner which the scrambling keeper could get nowhere near. Then once again Olisauskas sent in a good cross which Rehia Osagie latched onto and guided it into the net to put Kingsbury 2-0 up. They had numerous other shots during a forceful first half and the pick of them came from Farhad Anvari who picked up a loose ball about 25yards but hit his shot straight at the keeper.
The second half started in much the same way with shots being sent in on the Langford goal but eventually Langford got a grip on the game and started a fight back which in the 60th minute led to their goal. They won a free kick on the left which was taken by number 11 Ross Scotney and his cross ball found the head of number 9 Joe Delasalle who made no mistake with Langford’s opening goal. From this moment they started to gain in confidence and the pressure was now on Kingsbury’s defence. This meant that debutant keeper Paulo Maron had to save smartly back peddling to his back post to tip a shot from Scotney over the bar in the 68th minute. Then for the last 15 minutes manager Valdas Dambrauskas bought on substitutes Jon Muzzi and Christopher Diaz to strengthen up a tiring midfield which made a difference and eased the pressure somewhat.
All the same Maron had to make brilliant save in added on time when he blocked a shot from Delasalle at point blank range to maintain Kingbury’s lead to the end.
