Education, Employment, Training & Skills

Our successful work with our beneficiaries has enabled us to progress them into volunteering and work placement opportunities. But only by harnessing the energies, skills and ambitions of our beneficiaries will be  able to ensure that they are equipped to compete for jobs and improve their career prospects once in
employment.

Our LDA funded pan-London employment project has enabled us to do just that, by working across Brent, Camden, Ealing, Tower Hamlets and Westminster. We have worked primarily with the unemployed to improve their motivation, initiative and communication skills so that they are considered ‘job-ready’ by employers and job brokerage agencies. We have endeavoured to connect our beneficiaries to employment opportunities by understanding the complicated set of barriers and processes that keep them out of work and tailored actions.

Skills Training

The offer we have available to beneficiaries is to identify, support, develop and enhance their skills so that they become more employable and can become actively involved in Olympic sports delivery by volunteering as assistant coaches. We have successfully run skills training through specialist facilitators and trainers, especially courses such as the FA Football Level 1, National Life Guarding course and others run by social bodies. Furthermore, we have provided additionality by running our own bespoke skills training courses to develop people’s abilities in event management, time keeping, confidence, team work and others. By running these courses we have been able to provide beneficiaries with transferable skills so that they are able to progress onto volunteering and successfully and employment with other sports providers.
