			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Times Tigers representing East London Region in the inaugural Wisden City Cup 2009 beat Barclays Eagles in a closely contested final on Monday 31st Aug 2009.  London Tigers would like congratulate all the players who took part in this team and a special mention to Raihan Hussain, Maruf Choudhury, Maaz Hafeeji &amp; Soyfor Rahman for getting selected to play for the representative team to play against Middlesex CCC.</p>
<p>Raihan, Maruf &amp; Soyfor have all played for London Tigers in various leagues and competitions this season.  Also 11 of the 18 man squad of the Times Tigers have represented London Tigers this season.  This is the 1st season London Tigers CC have been running a full programme of activities for all age groups.  Therefore, the involvement of so many of our players in the Wisden City Cup is a testament to our  ambition to create opportunities, to fulfill dreams from estates to elite levels.</p>

<p>In association with IF Charity and Save the Children, London Tigers are happy to announce the World Record Breaking Gaza100 100 metres 24 hour relay race.  We are looking to break the current world record by getting 4,000 people in a Relay Run at the Mile End Stadium to raise £400,000 for Save the Children&#8217;s Gaza Appeal.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[The London Tigers Ealing KIDZ Football Tournament was successfully held on 7th March 2009 at the Spikes Bridge Park in Southall.  Players and spectators from a number of nationalities, including, British, Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Somali, enjoyed the day. A total of 10 Teams participated in the under 10&#8217;s and Under 13&#8217;s categories with over 150 spectators [...]]]></description>

<p><strong>The winners of the Under 13 Category were Sofel with a 1-0 victory against South Ealing Saints.</strong></p>
<p><strong>The Winner of the Under 10&#8217;s category were South Ealing Saints with a 1-0 victory against London Tigers.</strong></p>
<p>In the end The Mayor of Ealing Ian Green, along with local Councillors Gurcharan Singh, Ian Gibb and Jarnail Singh Jandu,  presented trophies to the winners and runners up.  With the great success of this first tournament, we are hope to turn this into an annual event so more young people from Ealing can enjoy this popular sports in a competitive environment.</p>

<p>We would like to invite everyone to come along and watch the match.  The entry to the stadium will be free, so bring along your friends and family and make a day of it.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #0000ff;">ABOUT THE UK ASIAN COMMUNITY CUP</span></h2>
<p>This is an annual football festival organised by London Tigers in partnership with Chelsea FC.  Chelsea FC and London Tigers were the first organisations in London to work together to promote Asian grass root talents to other professional clubs as well as the public, press and media. It has been held every year since 2003, with the finals always being played at Stamford Bridge Stadium.  This year there will be 24 teams representing their respective regions across the UK.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #0000ff;">COMMUNITY COHESION</span></h2>
<p>Although the tournament is targeted at the Asian community, we allow upto 4 non Asian teams to participate each year for good community relations and friendship amongs teams and spectators.  Over the years we have had teams representing Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Brazil, China, England, Scotland, Italy, Bulgaria, Ivory Coast, Japan, Mauritius, Nigeria, Somalia Vietnam and Zimbabwe amongst others.</p>
