LONDON TIGERS BADMINTON TOURNAMENT 2010

On 4th July 2010, London Tigers held a Mens Doubles Badminton Tournament as part of their UK Bangladesh Sports Federation initiative. The tournament was held at Whitechapel Leisure Centre with 27 Teams participating. The tournament got of to a great start with much enthusiasm of all the participating teams as well as the spectators. In the last leg of the tournament the two teams going through to the finals were Babul & Kahar and Bablu and Shiddeque.

Needless to say the two teams fought very hard against their opponents to get this far. However, in the end Bablu and Shiddeque went on to win the tournament. Special guests at the event who distributed prizes to the winners were Mayor of Tower Hamlets Cllr Motin Uz Zaman along with Cllrs. Rofique Uddin Ahmed, Asad Uddin, Koshru Uddin, Harun Miah, as well as Ex Cllr. Ata Rahman. As well as receiving trophies the Winners also received a pair of high quality Badminton Rackets.

London Tigers are looking to continue the success of this tournament and will be organising a similar women’s only Badminton tournament in Tower Hamlets in the coming weeks.
