The final of the 8th Annual UK Asian Community Cup was held on 10th May 2010 at Stamford Bridge, home of Premiership Champions Chelsea FC.  The two finalists were 2 time winners London Tigers and last year’s runners up Punjab United Sports from Wolverhampton.

London Tigers started well, winning a free kick 30 yards from the goal early in the game (25th minute).  Adil Salih took the free kick and delivered a fine ball which floated inside the penalty area to find Edson Cata at the back post who volleyed the ball into the roof of the net (1-0).  Punjab United almost scored an equalizer immediately, however, the ball was cleared of the line by Tazmul Ahmed after great work by the keeper Kieron Jimmy. The rest of the half was very much end to end play with no other clear chances.  Half time (1-0) to London Tigers.

 UK Bangladesh Twenty20 Cup

Sunday 9th May was the final for the inaugural launch of the UK Bangladesh Sports Federation with the “UK Bangladesh T20 Cup 2010″. Lords Cricket ground provided the perfect setting for such an event. Due to the early wet conditions, both semi finals were played at the MCC Indoor School, with games reduced to 12 overs per team.

In the first semi final in the battle of the colleges, St. Peters College, with ex-U19 Bangladesh players, Babel and Kafi, overcame a battling London College of Law and Management. Whilst in the second semi, much fancied English Channel Cricket Club from Brighton dismissed the youthful Tower Hamlets.

The final was played on the Lords Nursery ground, with St. Peters College winning the toss and deciding to bat first. The quality and experience of English Channel Cricket club knocked down the St. Peters College wickets very cheaply for just 50 all out. The team from Brighton, then chasing only 51 to win, continued to attack with the bat, reaching their target within 4 overs without the loss of any wicket.
