BME Families’ Involvement Project
Funded by Westminster Children’s Fund
The families involvement project which was developed specifically to work with the 8-13 year old children from the Bangladeshi and Arab speaking communities, by utilising sports as a medium to promote education and healthy living has seen huge benefits to those who have participated as well as the wider community.
Through this project we look to increased educational attainment, reduction in anti-social behaviour and increased awareness and understanding of the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.
The project also targets parents from disadvantaged communities such as the Bangladeshi, Moroccan, Sudanese, Somali, Afro-Caribbean and others, in order to educate them with the benefits of sports and its effects on Children and young people along with promoting other mainstream services available to them.
Through this project we receive referrals from YISP, YOT, Police and others agencies.
