Conspiracy Theories and Critical Thinking

London Tigers is supporting an event for the Youth on Conspiracy Theories. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Hosted at Al-Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre

“In our third of six Community Question events in 2017, Baraka Community Association seeks to address a range of subject matters to enable informed and open discussions on key issues raised by our communities.

The subject of conspiracy theories appears to be becoming increasingly popular, which demonstrates the importance of critical thinking, particularly within education settings. Conspiracy theories often come out of complex and extreme events, such as following incidents of terrorism and the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

With leading academics and professionals, our panellists will address common trends in conspiracy theories, why critical thinking in schools is so important and what can be done, and a case study on deconstructing the dangerous conspiracy theory of Holocaust denial.
