Pudsey Bear with London Tigers Youth Club of the Year

London Tigers celebrated their 30th anniversary with prestige and glamour at their Award Ceremony in Porchester Hall with over 450 people on Monday 24th October 2016. The event recognised the achievements of London Tigers members, volunteers and staff, with awards given out to a diverse range of people from different nationalities, age and background.

Dance GroupSpecial guests at the event included Karen Buck MP, Andrew Bridgens MP, the Mayors of Brent, Camden, Redbridge, Lambeth and Lord Mayor of Westminster, Bangladesh High Commission Official Cllr Abedin and London Assembly Members Unmesh Desai and Keith Prince as well as Pudsey Bear from BBC Children in Need, along with many other distinguished guests such as Mustafa Sowar of NTV Europe, Zakir Khan of Canary Wharf Group Plc, Hafiz Alam Baksh of ATN Bangla.

Sulthana Begum and Nazifa Anjum of London Tigers hosted the evening. Chairman Ron Boddy gave the trustee speech in recognition of the 30th Anniversary of London Tigers and other London Tigers trustees Polly Islam, Mehfuz Ahmed, Aslam Khan, Wali Ahmed and CEO-Mesba Ahmed distributed the awards.

Media talking to award winnersAwards were given to members of the Football, Cricket, Badminton and Youth Clubs along with the Health and Wellbeing and Volunteer awards. Special awards were given to Volunteer of the Year (Diane Debrincat, Tower Hamlets), Young Person of the Year (Rasha Zaidi, 10, Wesminster), Special Recognition (Halima Siddika and Shahid Rasul, Redbridge) and Tiger of the Year (Zahid Namigul,18, Ealing).

There was also entertainment including keyboard playing by Aatia Shahid (14, Newham), two dances by Mix It! (6-16 year olds from Camden) and a song by Shumon Sharif who is also the captain of the London Tigers cricket team in Tower Hamlets. Guests took photos with The FA Cup and the Charity Shield.

London Tigers thanks all the guests and supporters, especially Mint Caterers and Guru Soundz for their great service on the night.
